Boisdale of Belgravia
Boisdale of Belgravia is fit for a Scottish laird and looks the part. Regal red tartan encompasses every inch of floor and seating space, the whisky list is as interminable and heroic as the Iliad and there’s even a cigar terrace where you can stylishly have one over on the smoking ban. Carnivores will delight in Caledonia’s best beef, and there are plenty of options from Scotland’s seas to boot. If you’re feeling flush start with the ‘Menage a trois’ Scottish salmon before having the 12 ounce, 28-day aged Aberdeenshire fillet on the bone with seared foie gras and fresh grated black truffles. The Boisdale is only minutes away from Buckingham Palace and would equally suit a quiet romantic dinner or post work beverages with colleagues.
"£20 pre-theatre menu of 2 courses and a glass of pink fizz. Simply but elegantly presented food that tasted great. I had gravidlax and steak tartare, my girlfriend had mini haggis, neaps and tats, with a mushroom crepe thing for main. All washed down with a great choice of wines and finished up with good scotch. They have a great selection of cigars too for enjoyment on their cigar terrace. I love this place."
