Eighty Six London Restaurant

Eighty Six London Restaurant

in Chelsea is on its way to becoming a landmark destination in terms of both food and scene. As you walk in you’ll notice a series of things that separate Eighty-Six from the London chaff – the first being the stately yet inviting Georgian townhouse in which the restaurant resides.  Next you’ll notice the bright young set flushed and excited from the subtlety and sophistication of the food and drink. Finally your attention will be riveted to Eighty Six’s product – food executed to perfection, with a slight twist, unpretentious yet hitting every pleasure-point in your palate with a sniper’s precision.

DesignLSM, the team responsible for converting church to Galvin La Chapelle dining room, have done an exquisite job at seamlessly blending the antique with the hip at Eighty Six London Restaurant. The panelling is gold, the floor is mosaic, the pitchers are polished silver and the champagne is served in coupé stemware. Yet there’s a contemporary cool behind all of this retro chic. Victorian era portraits decorate the walls, human faces replaced with badgers, zebras, lions and other members of the animal kingdom. And there’s an amazing lively energy rising up into the mezzanine dining room from the bar below – just one of the many benefits of an open plan scheme.

The crowd is predominantly well-heeled and genteel twenty-somethings looking to let go of a hard-battled work week. We can’t reiterate the word lively enough. Eighty Six London restaurant is really a fun place to eat. Head Chef Simon Levy, formerly of Koffmans, offers a superb menu with great mains options include arctic cod, roasted Jerusalem artichokes, lemon, parsley. And for dessert make sure to sample the espresso brulee with almond biscotti. Kearns comes from a family in the wine trade and Eighty-Six offers an immense list to complement their delicious food.
